Dalaguete Beach Park, 3 Should-Go Attractions Before Dalaguete: A Must Go Getaway

As much as we want to go all the way to the best spots in the Visayas, Philippines, we can't just do that in one-trip or two. So let's discover first the best places in the Queen City of the South - Cebu City!

Cebu is a province in the Philippines that had been known for having tons of tourist attractions. Of course, not denying having historical places (such as the Heritage of Cebu Monument in Sikatuna St.), man-made forest like in Campo-7, and tons-and-tons of beaches is something Cebuano's can showcase and be proud of.

And amongst the best beaches to visit in Cebu, today, we'll be going South!

        Welcome to Dalaguete Beach Park!

Big open space for any event accommodation.

I was with my family when I visited the beach and it was so nice since you can really see how crystal clear the water is. You could also see those small itsy-bitsy fishes swirling around the water. Funny isn't it? Aside from that, you can enjoy the rest of the day having food cooked from home, brought in-store or cook there because they have an area allocated for cooking. Although the beach has a time schedule from 7 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon, no rooms available for rent and even beach camping is not allowed, rest assured your stay with friends, family or even alone wanting to have quality time for yourself will surely be satisfying.

The beach is open to the public with an affordable entrance fee. You can also see locals roaming around selling buko juice, souvenirs and even fresh fishes to grill. Just a side note, it would be good if you, your friends and family go there when it's not on its peak dates like fiesta and any holiday celebrations celebrated by locals because it can get crowdy. However, if you want to socialize and meet locals, you can! Most of the time, there are also a lot of tourists who visits the place and the locals too.

I got to bond with my grandfather and grandmother here on the beach because it's also near to the province of Argao and the fun ride before reaching the destination was really awesome. I'd prefer renting a car or motorcycle if you don't have one because it'll be a tiring walk before you reach the beach. Locals can also have pakyaw through tricycles though. Where they reach you to the destination and fetch you up when you are done paying just affordable prices depending on your base location.

With all these amazing places, how can we get here?

For LOCALS:

You can go to South Bus Terminal as many buses out there are waiting for passengers. Although there are also cases wherein if the seat is not full, you can just wait at the nearest stop-bus station in your location. You can also ride a taxi going to the destinations but it'll be expensive. But if you do have a car or a motorcycle then, Waze and Google Map can be your guide.

For INTERNATIONALS:

When you stepped down into the Mactan Airport, you can either ride a taxi (which might cost expensive because it will take approximately 5-6 hours before reaching the destination depending on the traffic and route taken (in Cebu City)), rent a car (e.g. Budget, Cebu Rent a Car) or go with V-hires straightly going to South and tell the driver your destination.
Try to book a flight early as you can have access to discounts and sales in Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, or AirAsia.

The best tool for going on an adventure like this is your mouth. Never forget to speak or ask locals when you reach your destination. However, be mindful always. Be budget-wise and lastly, enjoy your stay in the Philippines!
